Which one of them is more important?
Being an old pirate that has seen quite a few things and places in his
life, I do admit that most of my writings are inspired by the people
that I've met or by the things that I've seen. Long time ago I have
stopped chasing knowledge and focused on wisdom. Wisdom is not just
knowledge to me, rather it is knowing what matters, why it matters, and
how to achieve it.
So, sometime ago I've a met a bright young man who was talking about two simple, everyday questions: Why? and How? He showed me that in every realm of our daily lives, such as work, love or play, we do face these two questions. He noticed how children always tend to ask the "why" question and they do ask it lots of times a day! “Why?” is a great question! It may be the most important question in life. It enables one to plumb the depths, open new horizons, look at old realities with new eyes, to really understand and reach a higher level, according to this young man.
When we are around five or six years old, we begin unconsciously leaving the world of “Why?” and then one morning we wake up in the world of “How?” Everything seems to be clear to us. We no longer ask why… "How?" becomes our question of choice because we become more interested to know how to achieve our goals. We are looking at the successful people to learn how they achieved their success. The "How?" question helps us understand how the world around us functions. It is a very pragmatic and direct question, which is very relevant in our daily lives. Now, my question is which one of these two questions is primary and which of them is secondary in your opinion? Which one of them is more important? Also, if you have time/desire, explain your choice.
