Resurrection stories are not limited to Judeo Christian lore.  They can be found in various traditions from various eras.  But when we in the western world consider resurrection, we think of Jesus on the cross.

And a common early question of an awakening human is, "Did Jesus really rise from the dead?"

And the answer is, "I don't really know."

And the answer is, "I don't really care."

For you see, the spiritual value of this story is neither inflated nor deflated by the answer to this question.

I guess I could have said the answer is, "It doesn't really matter."

This archetypal story isn't just about the life Jesus lived, it's about the life you live.  It tells us how life works.

You see, in the same way that the winter contains the energy for the spring - that the crouch contains the energy for the leap, that the acorn contains the energy for the oak - so the crucifixion contains the energy for the resurrection.

You see, without the crucifixions, there could be no resurrections.

Now, this is not to say that the spiritually wise enjoy their challenges.  This is to say that the spiritually wise walk through their challenges with the understanding that these moments contain the energy for personal greatness; and the spiritually wise know that the choices they make during these moments will determine the outcome.

Remember in our tale, even when Jesus was on that cross, he wasn't bitching about it.
