The Treatment of Sharpness Today, I am presenting the word and the concept of ‘sharpness’ to you. You feel that this is a strange word that you would not normally use, however as you reflect on the word, you become aware that it represents a lot that is wrong with the culture of your times. Sharpness is the language and the weapon of the ego and is much evident in western culture. By sharpness we mean for example, sharp business practices that focus on one goal, money and the well being of a few. Sharpness as in the sharpness of the tongue, the sharpness of attitudes to other people and the sharpness of the very selfish model of existence that nurtures the self above all else.

You are having some cynical thoughts as to the need to be sharp in your culture. This is understandable and there is an element of truth in it, however as a philosophy and a way of life, it is utterly destructive in all elements of society as it represents the harshness of the ego and the absence of spirit in any form. You are thinking of how the Native Americans were treated during the colonization of America and this is a good example. Indeed many other indigenous peoples have suffered in the same way as have many in western culture and the world in general, whether in the exploitation of natural resources such as oil or the acquisition of new territory by more established and powerful nations.

You are pondering on how Christianity could have been twisted and subverted to remain the faith of conquerors who have instigated atrocities against the less powerful. The subversion of religion has been a common theme in the history of mankind. We could say that religion has been sharpened into a weapon and a philosophy devoid of compassion. You are reflecting correctly on the fact that if compassion and spirit are not heartfelt; they do not really exist for people. You are thinking of the Cathars and their assertion that evil exists as an entity and a force unto itself and that souls who are incarnate sooner or later choose the path of light or the path of darkness. Well I say to you that the path of darkness is readily available and what is darkness but the absence of light and where spirit is not lived, there is of course darkness and when we say spirit, we mean love and I say to you that despite his best intentions the atheist who feels love and compassion is a more spiritual man than the conniving priest or the heartless churchgoer.

You are reflecting on how we might marry the intellect and the scientific worldview to any kind of spirituality and as a visual metaphor, you are shown a wild and beautiful black stallion racing across the plain. The stallion represents science and the intellect, the great conqueror of ignorance and the purveyor of comfort, success and affluence. The stallion has raced across the plain of human endeavour and consciousness for a long time now and has conquered the minds of many. Now you notice for the first time that the stallion has a less glorious looking companion who is invisible to many. Although he is a magnificent white, he appears grey in the dust and he runs along patiently with his glorious and ostentatious companion. The horses traverse the globe many times and now you see that the black stallion is becoming tired. He becomes increasingly tired, but he does not know where to rest. He does not know where home is. Eventually his shy companion leads him home to rest. So it is with Science and the Spirit. Science has been the great warrior and conqueror but it is the conqueror of an illusory kingdom where great success reigns temporarily.

Spirit waits silently and when our human world with it’s science and it’s concerns and it’s glory begins to slip away, Spirit emerges from the shadows of our consciousness where it has always been, to bring us home. Yes you see a wonderful painting of your modern world and you are thinking that science has painted this magnificent masterpiece but spirit is the canvas and God, the patron and provider. To summarise our thoughts for today, let us say that Spirit is a simple thing, it is Love, it has always been love and it always will be love. Love in the spiritual sense is not a romantic thing or a sentimental thing. Love is an attitude of grace and of compassion. Love treads gently on the earth and causes as little suffering as possible. Love is a spiritual principle. Through you, I ask western man to return to the way of Christ. I ask western man to love his neighbour as himself. You see the sun shining its benevolent and warming rays on the earth, so it with spirit. Spirit shines it’s light on earth but every soul incarnate must open to the light and I say to you that this process is inevitable whether it takes one lifetime or ten. I say to you that God’s love or if you prefer, the love of the spirit does not have to be dressed in the finery of any religion or philosophy. God’s love is a heartfelt and a simple thing and it resonates through your human presence and your human consciousness.

You are thinking what if we have to defend the west against attackers and kill people in the process and I remind you that Life has many battles and there are many ways to fight. Spirit does not judge. Yes the west may have to defend itself and many may die. The storm that has been created by human suffering, delusion and ego must extinguish itself. You must understand our purpose clearly. We cannot save what has been lost and as I have communicated to you before, spirit strives to reclaim it’s own and sometimes death in human terms may be the very vehicle through which this is best achieved. Death in human terms may be equivalent to birth in spiritual terms.

Understand that Spirit as represented by me and channeled by you and others is now intervening in the physical realm so that the evolution of consciousness is accelerated. This represents a new order in one sense although it expresses ancient truths in another sense. Understand that what you are beginning may take millennia and that millennia represent a drop in the ocean of evolution and eternity. I say to you, simply speak my love today. All is as it should be. Goodnight Beloved
