We begin our series on spiritual healers with Joel S Goldsmith, a Christian mystic and one time Christian Science healer. Goldsmith separated himself from Christian Science after he felt he had learned all the movement had to teach him. He later founded an independent movement known as the Infinite Way.

According to his teaching, the Infinite Way is a mode of consciousness. Goldsmith experienced this mode of consciousness with increasing intensity over a period of many years. He understood Christhood as the perfect attainment of full conscious union with God.  Such Christhood is the attainable spiritual destiny of all human beings. The Infinite Way is a blueprint for the attainment of this God realization.

As we experience increasing awareness of being with our source, or God, pain, suffering, and disease cease to exist. A spiritual life of prayer and meditation leads gradually to this profound awareness. Students are taught to live harmoniously in the world without being subject to it.

This message is an individual experience. There are literally thousands of stories from students who have experienced a mystical union with God by following the Infinite Way. Goldsmith explains his teachings in great detail in his published works which were put together from a collection of his transcribed class and lecture materials.

Students of spiritual healing and healers will find the works of Joel Goldsmith remarkable and enlightening.  Goldsmith’s published works include The Art of Meditation (1956), Practicing the Presence (1958), The Art of Spiritual Healing (1959), Conscious Union with God (1960), Living the Infinite Way (1961), The Thunder of Silence (1961), A Parenthesis in Eternity (1963), and Leave Your Nets (1964).

The Infinite Way has no organization, no congregations, and this was an instruction Joel Goldsmith made very clear in all his tapes and publications. It was his practice never to accept fees for his healing work. Today, the Infinite Way today has no fees or dues. They do not advertise or solicit for donations or participants. They have no mailing lists of student’s names. They have no fees for healing or practitioner work.
