The Spiritual Value of The Human Body
The human body is the greatest body in the Universe, and a human being the greatest being
Man is higher than all animals, than all angels;none is
greater than man. Even the Devas (gods) will have to come down again
and attain to salvation through a human body as per legends.Man alone
attains to perfection, not even the Devas.According to some other
religions God created man after creating the angels and everything else,
and after creating man,He asked the angels to come and salute him, and
all did so except Iblis; so God cursed him and he became Satan. Though
it is a story, behind this allegory is the great truth that this human
birth is the the greatest birth we can have. The lower creation, the
animal, is dull, and manufactured mostly out of Tamas(Dullness).Animals
cannot have any high thoughts, nor can the angels, or Devas, attain to
direct freedom without human birth. In human society, in the same way,
too much wealth or too much poverty is a great impediment to the higher
development of the Soul. It is from the middle classes that the great
ones of the world come. Here the forces are very equally adjusted and
balanced. Actually the Human body is a mini Cosmos which contains all
uniqueness of the great Universe.
As per Yoga philosophy there are seven
centres in human body known as Mooladhara(Root
),Swathistana(Hara),Manipoora(Solar Plexus),Anahata(Heart),
Vishudha(Thraot), Anjha, (Third eye or Clairvoyance) and
Sahasrara(Crown) all in Chakra (Wheel) forms. These seven centres have
seperate colours viz.Red,Orange,Yellow,Green,Blue, Indigo and Viloet
respectively. In fact, these are colours we see in the Cosmos as per the
Energy of the Sun which is the pivot of all phenomenos. As per Indian
legends, there are seven Devas(Gods) for the above seven centres which
are Lord Ganesh, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rudra,Jeevatma or Prana
and Lord Siva respectively. Our body is actually composed to two parts,
the visible physical body and the invisible body called the bioplasmic
body known as AURA.This Aura does not exist solely in imagination but
has been proved scientifically by Kirlian photography.
An Enlightened
Yogi can see his AURA transcendentally through his Anjha Chakra. As per
Vedanta philosophy, Man is the expression of God and God is the reality
of Man. Real Man and God are inseperable."Tat twam asi (thou are that)
- the Lord does not exist apart from you; find Him out yourself within
yourself." This is a mention of our Atma ( Soul) and in fact every
religion in the world preaches this point in one way or other. Each soul
is a circle. The centre is where the body is, and the activity is
manifested there. We are ominpresent, though we have the consciousness of
being concentrated in only one point. That point has taken up particles
of matter and formed them into a machine to express itself. That
through which it expresses itself is called the body. We are
everywhere. When one body or machine fails , the centre moves on and
takes up other particles or matter, finer or grosser, and works through
them. Here is man. And what is God? God is a circle with circumference
nowhere and centre everywhere. Every point in that circle is living,
conscious, active, and equally working. With our limited souls only one
point is conscious, and that pioint is conscious, and that point moves
forward and backward. The soul is a circle whose circumference is
nowhere (limitless), but whose centre is in some body. Death is but a
change of centre.
God is a circle whose circumference is nowhere, and
whose centre is everywhere. When we can get out of the limited centre of
body, we shall realize the God, our true self. BUILDING OF CHARACTER:
Everything in this world is transitory and fleeting. From the highest
manifestaion of human life to the lowest worm all are destined to
perish. No man was ever born who could stop his body from changing
constantly. Body is the name of series of changes. What remains, then,
but character? Time swallows up everything except character; this is the
only thing it cannot touch. So we are known for our character even
after our death.Hence preserve it in the most ethical ways in all our
movements of everyday life.If we look back and study the history of
mankind, we find that , no matter how hard the struggle may have been to
live here forever, in the end all have been conquered by
death.Emperors and Kings have striven to build up something permanent,
but in vain. Look at the mighty Roman Empire, look at the wonderful
Greek civilization, where are they? The one has crumbled into dust, the
other lies in ruins,And what has outlived them? The messge of Jeaus
Chirst, the son of carpenter ,and that of the beggar Buddha. They are
still ruling the universe. Mystrerous are the ways od the Lord. Those
who wanted to live have died; those who were willing to die have
continued to live. Chirst, who freely gave up His life, lives
eternally. Buddha, who renounced a whole kingdom, rules over half of
the world. Why did these great Teachers renounce? Because they found
that everything that is a combination of matter is destined to perish,
and they sought something more permanent.
When Chirst was tempted by
the devil,He cast aside the world because He well knew its hollowness
and that could never bring real happiness. So Buddha resisted the
temptation of of Mara, the lust because he had realizesd that this world
could bring only sorrow in the end. Both of these great Souls valued
charactrer more than all else and devoted all ther attention to that.
They renounce or threw aside all material things knowing that character
alone would live.God is the source of all our strength and
inspiration; but when we forget Him through the charm of matter, we
become spiritually blind.Love of the world is blinding while love of
God is sight-saving;the two cannot co-exit.You cannot have sincere love
for God in your heart and at the same time fondness for wordly
enjoyments. It is impossible, for they are as inharmonious as darkness
and light. One only can exist at a time.So the sages have declared
boldly, : Give up! Give up the world and love God, the Supreme Goal,
from whom we have come intio existence, in Whom we live, move and have
our being. Do not forget Him, do not neglect to serve Him. Love Him and
serve Him, and let all else go. This is the watchword of all religions
and religious teachers.Christ helped the world by His character. It is
not that He turned the earth into a heaven. This is not possible.
There was just as much evil in the world after He came as before, but
His example He is helping each individual soul to overcome its
limitations and to strive toward perfection.
Neither Chirst nor Buddha, nor any other prophet, claimed to be an exception. On the contrary, they preached that all can become like them. We can all attain the same perfection. But only when we build our character in the firm foundation of purity, unselfishness and and non attachement , will they remian unshaken in all the varying conditions of life and prove a lving benediction to our fellow beings.
THE CHARACTER,THE MOST CRUCIAL NEED OF MAN,THE SOCIETY AND THE NATIONS FOR THE PRSENT TIME OF THE WORLD.
CONQUER THE WORLD WITH SPIRITUALITY,COMPASSION AND UNIVERSAL LOVE. LOVE,REALIZE AND SERVE.
