What is a mystic?
A mystic is a person who is searching for the unknown path.

What is the difference between the mystic and the conditioned soul, that makes him follow the unknown path?
A mystic uses his heart and intuition, while the conditioned soul uses his knowledge that is attained from the general public, through environmental pressure.

Who follows the path of wisdom?
Let's find that out with a poem from Rumi, I don't like to give such answers, since I'd rather be the humble servant rather than the wise master. The pride of the master is very dangerous for the faithful devotee, thus, he surrenders all to the Supreme. Beauty arises aftermath, with love and ecstacy...

The spiritual path wrecks the body
and afterwards restores it to health.
It destroys the house to unearth the treasure,
and with that pleasure builds it better than before.

That which God said to the rose,
and caused it to laugh in full blown beauty,
He said to my heart,
and made it a hundred times more beautiful.

The core of every fruit is better than its rind:
consider the body to be the rind,
and its friend, the spirit, to be the core.
seek it, inspired by the Divine breath.

For lovers, the only teaching is the beauty of the Beloved:
their only book and lecture is the Face.
Outwardly they are silent,
but their penetrating remembrance rises
to the high throne if their Friend.
Their only lesson is enthusiasm, whirling, and trembling, not the minor details of law.
