Technology is dependent on the hands of the user. Just like for instance there is a knife. Another person with a different consciousness will take the same knife and cut your throat to steal your money. So the knife is actually neutral.

All our occupational duties are perfected when it gives pleasure and satisfaction to the Lord. And how do we please the Lord? We please the Lord by pleasing His devotees, the great souls. And what pleases the great souls? When they see that whatever services we offer is without a desire for prestige or distinction, the great souls are pleased. To the degree our service is without ulterior motives for our own selfish acquisition, either gross or subtle, to that degree it is actually pleasing the devotees, and thus pleasing to the Supreme Lord.

Devotional service should not be rendered in a proud way. We should not think that rendering service is to show how nice we are, how good we are, how devoted we are. Rendering service in a proper state of mind means to always take a position of being menial and insignificant. We may not have this consciousness of menial significance frame of mind but we should aspire for that when we chant the holy name of the Lord. When we aspire in all our devotional practices for this most glorious position of das dasanu das,being in the mood of servant, then Krishna will take our prayers seriously and then by His Grace, He will remove ahankara, the false ego. Until He removes it, we will all be imprisoned by it. You do not have the power to remove it, but by your humble menial service to the Lord you will attract His Divine Mercy. He removes it. Sense Gratification, Krishna says, has a beginning and a an end and therefore wise men do not delight in it.
