As the Buddhist teachings say, "to live you must experience suffering." Throughout life, it's natural to endure sickness, injury, tiredness, and old age. However, when we look at our emotional suffering, such as loneliness, doubt, frustration, fear, embarrassment, anger, jealousy, disappointment, etc., these feelings are more difficult to accept.
We all tend to think in terms of extremes from time to time. Have you ever made a mistake and felt as though you were a total failure? Have you ever looked at other people or situations and judged them good or bad, right or wrong? There are times when you only see the downside to a situation and your vision becomes darkened.
