Graphology, the study of handwriting throws some light on the nature or character of a person. Regarded as similar to astrology or numerology the spiritual aspect of it is often ignored. Based on the fundamental premise that when we write, our conscious ego is active though not always to the same extent, it is natural that our mental state would have a bearing on our handwriting. Our ego's activity varies between one minute to the next, i.e., it waxes and wanes - at the highest level of our ego, an effort has to be made by the writer and at its lowest level it is almost no effort, when the speed of the writing has gains momentum. When the action of writing is comparatively difficult, the writer uses those forms of letters which are simpler or more familiar. The movements and corresponding levels of muscular tension in writing are mostly outside of conscious control. Emotion and mental state are reflected in a person's handwriting as spiritual energy travels from the soul into the handwriting. Based on this, graphologists evaluate the pattern, form, movement, rhythm, quality, and consistency of the graphic stroke in terms of psychological interpretations. Graphology today has many uses - psychological analysis, marital compatibility, medical diagnosis, and spiritual wellness (graphotherapy). to name just a few.
