Once I wanted to be like Buddha:

I closed my eyes

And sat with legs crossed,

But nothing happened.

Than I made very log trip to bodhi tree

And sat very long below that special tree,

But that either didn’t make me enlightened.

I really wished to belong to that rank of rare ones - truth realized beings -

So I didn’t give up.

Reading, thinking, trying,

All that spiritual - new and old age staff.

Adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing,

With final result equal to zero.

 

Exhausted, at the end of the day

I went to the river

And on the river bank

I saw clown

And realized:

The TRUTH!
