Watercolor: Broken?..Beyond Despair Artist: Candace Huffmaster Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 But as for me, my feet came close to stumbling; my steps had almost slipped Psalms 73:2 There are many times when those around us want to state that due to certain moments in our life we appear to be beyond repair. Thank God He not only has us in His clutch, but He continually matures us, stands by us, covers us, heals us, leads us and empowers us to keep going beyond the despair. Broken as we are, in Him we are transformed, as we renew our minds and believe by faith He is faithful to complete us.
Those who say such things make it clear that they are looking for their own country. If they had been thinking about the country that they had left, they could have found a way to go back. God created all things: He perceived, He conceived and believed; He established their goodness and set them in place. He opened up all time with opportunities: Made in His image: we create; we conceive, we perceive and believe.
Standing your ground is trivial and has very little to do with your inner strength. The truly enlightened and wise find their power in unconditional love. Who is right and who is wrong is spiritually insignificant. Truly powerful people seldom have any need for excessive self-defense or forcing their views upon others. It simply does not matter. Do you want to be right… or do you want to make a difference in the world?
As we know all things are common to man. That means anything that is happening to you is not out of the ordinary. So when we use the cliché “You have no idea” that is simply not true. Why then do some individuals enter into these so called “common moments” and end up in crisis while others do not?
The truth about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection from the dead is not that we are sinful beings for whom a blood sacrifice was required by God. Rather we are eternal beings, connected with God, for whom spiritual rebirth and renewal (“resurrection”) is possible in any moment that we choose it.

Jesus’ earliest followers held wildly differing views of Jesus’ life and teachings. The Gnostic gospels, written by some of Jesus’ earliest followers, offer a fresh and relevant look at how Jesus’ teachings can help you find meaning and purpose in our chaotic world.
