    Soldiering On

This inspirational verse is taken from "A String of Pearls, A Yearbook of Daily Inspiration to Soothe the Soul and Rekindle the Spirit" January 6 This verse reminds us that nothing stays the same. Even in the midst of trial and trouble, if we can find the courage to keep "Soldiering On" things will get better. I wrote this to remind myself that even when things look bleak I can change my focus. When I remember to count my blessings a miracle occurs. I begin to feel better!

    Strength in Everyway

Strength is the ability to look at reality and say be gone. A reality that does not reflect my true being is an allusion in progression. That allusion finds its fire in the ability to misuse energy. Blame forever flies around as an expression of rage but why blame when the truth is never the sorcery of the subjected objective?

In that moment it was easy to see how genuine the feeling was for him, how natural such a human response could be, if we allowed it.

    Not Your Grandma's Heaven

From Victim to Liberator: The Power of Compassion

I was on a meditation retreat in the south of France when a visiting master's story about persecution in Tibet totally transformed my understanding of compassion. An audience of over three hundred Western students of Buddhism waited quietly for him to speak. He was about forty years old, quite tall and broad-shouldered for a Tibetan with an enormous presence likea mountain, though he barely smiled.
